Esta ilustración es un homenaje a nuestras madres puertorriqueñas y su legendaria puntería. Muchos de nosotros fuimos testigos —o blancos— del poder educativo de La Chancleta Voladora. Aquella que, sin dejar huella visible, fomentaba la disciplina, la obediencia... y un respeto casi militar. La chancleta voladora marcó mi infancia, y sin ella, no sería quien soy hoy. — Fabián Rey

This illustration is a tribute to our Puerto Rican mothers and their legendary aim. Many of us were witnesses —or targets— of the educational power of the Flying Chancleta. The one that, without leaving a visible mark, instilled discipline, obedience… and an almost military-level respect. The flying chancleta shaped my childhood, and without it, I wouldn't be who I am today. — Fabián Rey
